Caramel Wrappers
The sweet stickiness of caramel apples is never far away when you have leftover caramels! Fold a large piece of parchment paper in half and place it on a microwaveable plate. Set 2 or 3 unwrapped caramels not more than ½ in. (1 cm) apart on the bottom half of parchment. Heat at 50% power (press power button until it is at level 5, not 10) for 1 min. Remove from microwave. Slide the parchment, with the softened caramels still between the sheets, onto a work surface. Using a rolling pin, roll on top half of parchment (not on the candy directly) to spread the caramel as thinly as possible. Let cool. Peel caramel off parchment. Cut into pieces with kitchen scissors to wrap around apple slices.
Marshmallow Daisies
Got marshmallows and need a quick way to spruce up a cake? Grab your kitchen scissors and make 4 deep evenly spaced cuts into the side of a marshmallow to create 5 "petals," keeping the petal fan intact. Spread out the petals, overlapping the end ones. Pierce a toothpick into the bottom of a soft gumdrop-type candy, then slide the toothpick through the base of the overlapped petals until the gumdrop sits on the flower. Now press the toothpick into your cake so the marshmallow daisy rests prettily on the icing!
