They are given shelter, resting areas and sufficient space, which allow the animals to engage in natural behaviours.
Certified Humane® defined.Certified Humane® Raised & Handled meat and poultry meets the Humane Farm Animal Care Program standards, which include a nutritious diet without antibiotics, animals raised with shelter, resting areas, sufficient space and the ability to engage in natural behaviours. In the case of beef, this also includes not using any hormones or other growth promotants in cattle raising.
